David Navarro-Turres is a Chilean-Belgian conductor renowned for his expertise in large-scale choral and orchestral repertoire. Recognized for combining structural precision with expressive depth, he has built an international reputation through collaborations with leading orchestras and ensembles across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
An award-winning musician and recipient of both the Belgian French Community Prize and the Chilean National Conservatory Prize, he serves as Artistic Director of the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Brussels Philharmonic Chorus. In this role, he leads ambitious productions that bring together orchestra, choir, and soloists in performances of significant artistic and dramatic impact.
As a guest conductor, Navarro-Turres has worked with numerous distinguished ensembles, including the Belgian National Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Music Corps of the Belgian Guides, Royal Music Corps of the Belgian Air Force, Saint Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra, and many others. His career highlights include conducting Three Letters from Sarajevo by Goran Bregović at the opening of the Balkan Trafik Festival, leading the acclaimed Brel Symphonique project, and directing major concert tours throughout China, Europe, and the Middle East.
Born in Antofagasta, Chile, he began conducting at the age of fifteen and studied at the Modern Contemporary Music School, the National Conservatory of the University of Chile, and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He further refined his craft through international masterclasses with renowned conductors including David Zinman, Benjamin Zander, and Guerassim Voronkov.
